OPERATIONS MANAGER

Ansett Aircraft Spares & Services in Sylmar, CA is seeking an experienced Operations Manager.  As an established commercial aircraft parts company, our functions include sale of surplus spare parts, distribution of new parts from leading OEMs, and support/administration for repair of aircraft components. 

This full-time position is a wide ranging role and demands a hands-on approach.  You will direct and coordinate activities of shipping and warehouse operations personnel engaged in receiving, storing, picking, packing, packaging, freight forwarding and shipping products, by performing duties personally and as assigned to subordinates.  Additionally, the person would be responsible for certain aspects of the company’s quality assurance programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include Inventory Management, Personnel Management, Administration, Warehouse Facility and Equipment, Quality Assurance (including ISO 9001:2000, AS9120:2002, and FAA AC 00-56), Regulatory Compliance (including EASA, FAA, US Dept. Of Commerce, US Dept. Of State, US Dept. of Treasury, US Customs and Border Protection, and DOT regulatory requirements), and Health and Safety.

Experience & Educational requirements:

• 3 to 4 year college or university degree/certificate, or at least 5 years related experience in a commercial aircraft parts distribution environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Computer skills are essential, specifically MS Office applications; knowledge of computer network systems desirable.
• High level of written and verbal language skills, higher mathematical skills, and excellent reasoning ability.
• Dangerous Goods Certification.
• Training and certification in Export Control Regulations. 
• Certificate in supervisory skills is a plus.
