INVENTORY CONTROLLER

Ansett Aircraft Spares & Services (AASS) is seeking an experienced Inventory Controller.  This opportunity is a full-time position.

The Inventory Controller will be responsible for receiving, storing, picking, packing, and packaging products.  Essential duties will include, but are not limited to, conveying items from receiving to storage, reading pick tickets to determine items to be pulled, assembling customer orders and placing onto or into proper shipping materials, opening boxes and other containers and recording weights, counts, and amounts, attaching identification data onto articles of inventory, comparing received articles against orders, examining those articles for defects, entering inventory information into computerized system, unloads and unpacks incoming shipments.  Other duties in the warehouse may be assigned as required.

Experience & Educational requirements:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence (email, letter, etc.); ability to calculate figures and amounts such as weights and proportions.  A knowledge of basic algebra is encouraged.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Good computer skills required – Word, Excel, data entry.
  • Certificate from college or technical school, or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn will be considered as long as they possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience or knowledge of the aircraft parts industry is a plus.

Warehouse workers must be able to lift and move boxes and other material either manually or using appropriate equipment.  The physical demands are representative of a typical warehouse environment and must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
