Experienced Shipping Coordinator
Ansett Aircraft Spares & Services, an established civil aircraft parts trading company is offering an opportunity for an experienced Shipping Coordinator with a background in domestic and export shipping and logistics to join its Operations department. This is a full-time position that provides an opportunity to be trained in shipping aircraft spares within the company’s ISO 9001:2000 and FAA AC 00-56A accredited quality management system.
The Shipping Coordinator will be responsible for preparing shipping documentation for domestic and international shipments in compliance with US Government regulatory reporting requirements, negotiate freight rates with freight forwarders, trucking companies, couriers, and expedited air service providers, and other warehouse operations related duties. An attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work with other team members within a fast-paced environment are required.
Experience within the aviation parts industry and/or shipping/warehouse operations is an asset. The incumbent must have a positive work attitude and “go the extra mile” to accomplish assigned tasks.
Experience & Educational requirements:
- Must be fluent in English.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently to meet strict deadlines.
- Computer data entry skills required as all inventory related information and shipping data are stored on computers. Familiarity with MS-Office applications, Quantum Control Inventory Management System, and/or Pentagon2000, is an asset.
- 2 to 5 years of general shipping (FedEx, UPS, freight forwarders, common carriers, and couriers) and/or warehouse operations work experience is desirable. Candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn will be considered.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Clean driving record.
